Our long-held suspicions are confirmed!
You would had to have been living on another planet to be unaware of TRACK’s leadership in design and engineering.
We have seen the iconic Tvan and Topaz models operating brilliantly for 20 and 10 years respectively in the harshest of environments, inspiring their adventurous owners to push the boundaries as they explore and experience the beautiful and remote places of the Australian outback.
TRACK’s designs and manufacturing methods have always been very different from the rest of the RV industry. These differences have always provided superior function, outstanding reliability and durability and market leading resale value; facts recognised and highly regarded by their customers, who in many instances upgrade every few years to take advantage of the latest advances from this technical powerhouse that is TRACK Trailer.
TRACK enters few competitions, apart from the competitive market for serious off-road campers and caravans, but with the huge investment and 3 year development effort in creating and developing its T4 Collection, it decided to test its design credentials in the Good Design Awards.
TRACK Director, Gerard Waldron, said, “TRACK enters few competitions, other than the competitive market place for its products, of course, but chose to enter the Good Design Awards to obtain expert feedback and international benchmarking of TRACK’s design and engineering, hoping this would provide some well-deserved international recognition for the team who create TRACK products.” – This resulted in the Track T4 Collection Winning a Good Design Award for Enginerring Excellence.
“TRACK’s recently released T4 Collection of hybrid caravans, provided an excellent basis for our Good Design. The inhouse design and development program represented a massive investment over 3 years. Indeed, the T4 Collection brings together the DNA of 20years of product and process design at TRACK and so showcases the current state of the art.”
Waldron continued, “Our peers and customers have long recognised the quality of our engineering and so it is very satisfying to have won international recognition in the Engineering Design Category of the Awards. We hope this award highlights for customers, that while much of our excellence is hidden within the finished product, it is nonetheless adding enormous value and integrity in the overall design, quality and performance of the T4.”
The Good Design Awards Jury praised the entry commenting:
“This is certainly good design and a very worthy player in a crowded market space for highly technical RV camper trailers. The product embodies many examples of well executed design, is aesthetically attractive, robust, fit for purpose and will no doubt be the first choice for many in this market.”
Of course, as you would expect, there is a huge team effort in creating and bringing to market a product like the T4 Collection. Fittingly the recognition of this award is shared by the whole community of TRACK’s suppliers and staff, from the finance department, sales team, production team, purchasing and marketing, while the Engineering / R&D group and our major suppliers are deserving of special individual mention for, not only their brilliant work in producing a beautiful fully integrated product, but also their passion and professionalism:

Waldron said “From the start we have always approached our product and process design around our vision, “RVs that Inspire” and we are very proud that our T4 Collection is not only living proof of our progress, but that it is recognised by such an authoritative organisation as the Good Design Awards. I am enormously grateful to the community of our staff, suppliers, customers and associates who have collaborated to make TRACK the company that is worthy of this recognition.”
Australia’s annual Good Design Awards program is one of the oldest and most prestigious international design awards in the world, promoting excellence in design and innovation since 1958. It is recognised by the World Design Organization (WDO) as Australia’s peak international design endorsement program.
The Good Design Awards represent the diverse spectrum of design with 10 specific Design Disciplines, spanning 28 Categories.
With Evaluation Criteria assessing, for example, if the entry advances the design profession and pushed the boundaries of new and innovative thinking, the annual Good Design Awards program proudly showcases superior examples of good design to a national and international audience.
