We are regretfully selling our mark 2 canning TVAN. Built October 2009, this TVAN is in really good condition for its age. Located Glasshouse Mountains, QLD.
We bought the TVAN 3 years ago to take our family on a lap around australia. It did the job perfectly and took us to some amazing places. We are selling as we can no longer keep the 4×4.
The mark 2 is solidly built, has less frills than the newer models, but also has less to go wrong. The TVAN has the early model front frame (no box) and long draw bar. This helps manouvreing and keeps the ball weight low (less than 100kg).
We love the m2 for its flexible setup options. Between us and the previous owners, we've added some thoughtful customisations to offer a wider range of setups:
+Rear hatch mesh screen, plus sail track on the bottom of the deck. This gives you many sleeping options:
+Minimalist setup using just the mozzie screen over the open doorway
+Add an awning side wall to the sail track we've added to the rear of the hatch to provide some privacy while the door is open
+When you have the rear tent up, during heavy rain, or hot sun, you can use the side wall as a tropical roof.
+A supapeg side awning is installed on a custom bracket, providing quick cover during short trips or roadside travel breaks. This awning adequately covers the kitchen, plus provides enough shade to sit under.
The full annex provides a huge weather proof area. It takes some experience to put up, but fully worth it when the rain comes down sideways. We've been in some very strong wind with this setup and can vouch for its strength.
The suspension was refurbished by the previous owners, 3 years ago. Was fully serviced 5000km ago, including new maxis lt tyres and replaced bearings.
We've given the external paint a touch up and also made several improvements to the electonics:
+There is wiring for a 2nd battery in the rear:
+led light strips in the kitchen area
+dual sirocco fans inside – these put out a lot of air with very low noise and power draw
+new trailer lights
+usb chargers inside
+wireless reverse camera hard wired (with display for your dash).
2xMaxtrax, Portapotty and mobile gas hot water heater and 2x gas bottles are also provided if you want them.
Given the age of the van, it does have signs of use. The canvas on the tent has discolouration due to sap, plus some tiny pinholes. The roof of the annex has two repairs. Tyre cover has some holes in it. Underside shows the red dust from inland.
